Welcome to the wedding! If you're arriving at Copenhagen Airport (CPH) and heading to Ystad, Sweden, here’s a quick guide to help you get there:

By Train:

  • From the Airport: Take the train from Copenhagen Airport to Malmö Hyllie. This journey takes about 20 minutes.

  • Transfer: At Malmö Hyllie, transfer to a train bound for Ystad. The direct train ride from Malmö Hyllie to Ystad takes approximately 50 minutes.

By Car:

  • Route: Drive from Copenhagen Airport towards Sweden (Sverige) via the E20 and E65. The trip is about 90 kilometers and should take around 1.5 hours, depending on traffic.

  • Toll: Be aware of the bridge toll for the Øresund Bridge.

By Ferry:

  • From Poland: You can take a ferry from Świnoujście to Ystad. For schedules and booking, visit Polferries or Unity Line.

  • From Germany: Rostock - Trelleborg
    This ferry trip takes around 6 hours and arrives in Trelleborg, about an hour's drive from Ystad. Multiple ferry operators service this route. TT-Line: TT-Line Rostock-Trelleborg and Stena Line: Stena Line Rostock-Trelleborg

  • From Germany:  Puttgarden - Rødby
    If you prefer to drive through Denmark, this is a good option. The ferry ride lasts 45 minutes, followed by a two-and-a-half-hour drive to Ystad, crossing the Øresund Bridge between Copenhagen and Malmö (note: there is a toll for the bridge).Scandlines: Scandlines Puttgarden-Rødby

  • From Germany: Travemünde - Malmö
    This ferry takes you to Malmö, which is also about an hour's drive from Ystad. The journey lasts 9 hours, and overnight cabins are available. TT-Line: TT-Line Travemünde-Malmö

  • From Germany: Sassnitz - Trelleborg

       This is the fastest ferry from Germany to Sweden. Only 2.5 hours. FRS Baltic https://www.frs-baltic.com/en/

Other Considerations:

  • Tickets: Purchase train tickets in advance online or at the station. For more details, visit Skånetrafiken. For bus services, check with the respective provider.

  • Travel Documents: Ensure you have your passport or ID with you, as you will cross an international border.

  • UK citizens traveling to most European countries will need to apply for a European Travel Information and Authorization System (ETIAS) visa waiver, which can be completed online and is required for short stays of up to 90 days.

Ystad is a popular summer destination, and as such, accommodation options can fill up quickly. To ensure you have a place to stay during the wedding festivities, we recommend booking your hotel or Airbnb as soon as possible. 

 

For those interested in the cabins and camping, they will become available in 2025. We have reserved 6 cabins so far. Please contact either one of us if you want to take one.
